The ingredients needed to make Crockpot beans and smoked turkey:
  1. Prepare 3 1/3 cup water or enough to submerge ingredients
  2. Get 4 can 16 oz northern beans drained & rinse
  3. Take 1 can 16 oz kidney beans drained & rinse (can also use roman beans)
  4. Take 1 1/2 cup jennie-o turkey pastrami (cubed)
  5. Prepare 1 lb smoked turkey neck or 3 large pieces
  6. Make ready 14 oz can carrots (you can use 1/2 cup fresh, cut in small even sizes)
  7. Take 1 stick celery (washed & cut in half)
  8. Make ready 1 cup onion, chopped
  9. Take 1 tbsp minced garlic
  10. Get 1 tbsp olive oil
  11. Take 1 bay leaf
  12. Make ready 1/2 tbsp garlic powder
  13. Take 3 pinch dry oregano
  14. Take 1/2 tbsp creole seasoning
  15. Prepare 1 tsp complete seasoning or your favorite
  16. Make ready 1 sazon goya with coriander & annatto (1 envelope)
  17. Take 1/2 cup ripped pitted black olives cut in halves (optional)

Both my husband & I really love Lima Beans, & I decided to make some for dinner on Sunday. I thought the Smoked Turkey would add just the right amount of flavor to them & they turned out great. I added a few extra spices to enhance the flavor, & they turned out just wonderful. As a kid in Arkansas we always had sliced tomatoes, onions & cucumbers in vinegar with them with just a hint of sugar.

Instructions to make Crockpot beans and smoked turkey:
  1. Place everything in your crockpot. Cook on low for 6 hours. Uncover for the last 2 hours, watching that it does dry too much. I usually just leave overnight. Next time I think I'll add cabbage & chick peas. Serve with white rice, corn bread or baguette.
