The ingredients needed to make Kadhi Pakora with Rice:
  1. Get 1.5 cup curd
  2. Prepare 5-6 tbsp gram flour
  3. Make ready 1 tsp turmeric powder
  4. Take 1 pinch asafoetida (hing)
  5. Get 7-8 curry leaves
  6. Prepare 2 dried red chilli
  7. Prepare 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  8. Prepare 1/2 tsp mustard seeds (Optional)
  9. Get 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
  10. Get 1/2 tsp kashmiri chili powder
  11. Make ready 1-2 green chilli
  12. Get to taste Salt
  13. Prepare 2-3 tsp ghee
  14. Make ready Oil for frying pakora
  15. Make ready Water for making Pakora batter

Steps to make Kadhi Pakora with Rice:
  1. Pakora recipe:- Take a bowl whisk 3 tbsp gram flour with 1/2 cup water to make a thick paste.
  2. Heat oil for frying in a deep kadhai. Put small portion of the paste into hot oil and deep fry till lightly brown.
  3. Remove on kitchn towel. Keep aside.
  4. Kadhi Recipe:- Take a large bowl whisk together curd and 2 tbsp gram flour, red chilli, turmeric powder, 3 cup water.
  5. Heat 2 tbsp ghee in a deep pan, add hing, curry leaves, dried red chilli once the seeds crackle add curd mixture and bring to a boil, stirring continuously.
  6. Add salt, lower the heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stir occasionally.
  7. For tempering:- Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a tadka pan, add mustard seeds/cumin seeds, kashmiri red chili powder, green chilli, curry leaves.
  8. Remove kadhi in the serving bowl or plate add tempering on top.
  9. Serve hot with steamed rice & papad.

This was staple Sunday fare that we never tired of. Simple flavours and yet so very satisfying. Kadhi recipe differs from state to state in India. Pour tadka over kadhi, garnish with more cilantro and serve punjabi kadhi pakora with rice! The kadhi thickens as it cools down.
