The ingredients needed to make Beefy Tortilla Casserole:
  1. Get 1 1/2 lb lean ground beef
  2. Take 1 (14.5oz) can diced tomatoes with green chilies, undrained
  3. Take 1 (10 1/4oz) can condensed cream of onion soup
  4. Get 1 (1.25oz) pkg taco seasoning mix
  5. Get 1/4 cup water
  6. Prepare 6 (5-6in) corn tortillas, cut into 1/2 in strips
  7. Prepare 1/2 cup sour cream
  8. Get 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  9. Take 3 tbsp sliced green onions

Add a layer of half the tortillas on top of. It has layers of red enchilada sauce, seasoned ground beef, corn tortillas, and cheese. Steps to make Beefy Tortilla Casserole:
  1. Cook ground beef in large skillet over medium heat until thoroughly cooked, stirring frequently. Drain.
  2. In 3 1/2 to 5 quart slow cooker, combine beef, tomatoes, soup, taco mix and water; mix well. And tortilla strips; stir in gently.
  3. Cover; cook on low for 7-8 hours.
  4. About 5 minutes before serving, spread sour cream over casserole. Sprinkle with cheese. Cover, let stand about 5 minutes or until cheese is melted. Sprinkle with onions.
